The MIDI for this track was generated with Tiction, going into Superior2 and LoungeLizard Session.
Then improvised about 6 takes of guitar over the entire thing and edited them to a listenable form.
This one has a minimalist approach to it.
Backing mostly generated with a Reaktor ensemble "Machine Language", using different samples (G-Town Church and some else).
Played just one take of guitar and edited a few rhythmic accents to be in time.
It's quite long and testing your patience or conversely soothing you into gentle trance, until the resolve occurs at the final minutes
Made for the "Mixage fou" or "Crazy Mix" contest using a variety of supplied non-related tracks.
By using lots of different processing and editing, I managed to get them working together, forming a composition.
There was a duration limit of 80 seconds.
Made for the ProRec StealthPedal contest.
The aim was to make an original composition no longer than 90 seconds and use Amplitube3 guitar effects to sculpt the sound of other instruments than the guitar.
I recorded and amplitubed an assortment of mechanical and electronic children's toys and a drum-synth, arranging them into a somewhat coherent musical event ;)
The lineup is as follows (in order of appearance): wind-up noise, toy-synth/drum machine, mooing cow, electronic musical toy - banjo type sound (notes rearranged), musicbox (reversed), chirping bird, proper drum synth ;), laughing doll, barking dog, "papa, mamma" doll.
A straight forward metal tune with a touch of experimentation, but mainly just having fun riffing away.
A good way to wrap up this year.
Composed for the SynthMaster 2.0 songwriting contest.
13 instances of SynthMaster 2 software synthesizer.
No other instruments, just some EQ adjustment, stereo widening, clipping/limiting.
I used Axon guitar to MIDI and padKontrol to play the solo and some other stuff.
A touch-style etude for solo guitar.
Composed during morning hours 1:00-3:30.
For now it has only one guitar, but I might expand the arrangement for more instruments in the future.
And now... something completely different.
This time, just for fun I had a go with a "dance" track.
Guitar plays a secondary role in this piece, apart from the touch-style solo in the middle.
Vocals were made with a vocal synth and a vocoder. This is actually where this song started. I was trying to amuse my daughter by making the computer say "Mina olen Mia" (eng. "I am Mia")
This improvisation started as a soundcheck. After I noticed this could develop into something useful, I stuck a mic in front of the amp, not worrying too much about technical issues.
There is again some looping, this time using a long delay from the guitar processor, e-bow, mobile phone blips, wah.
I used some after-processing to make the mono recording stereo.
A noisy piece with no specific melody.
There is some backward looping, glitching mobile phone blips, slides/wah and what not.
"I love the super heavy ominous feel to this piece, the little pauses only to be crushed by a gigantic malevolent monster from outer-guitar-space." - aliensporebomb (GtrOblq forums)
A newly discovered and edited improvisation from a few years back.
It's played on a 6-string guitar with reverb and delay added afterwards.
The idea was just to sit down beside the amp and let out whatever needed to surface.
The basic idea behind this song is once again 7 one string guitars.
This time though I couldn't resist adding other instruments as well.
The main rhythmic pattern consists of 7 guitars playing single notes at an even rhythm but at different tempi.
An improvisation on basic looping - guitars and drums.
Heavy Metal...
Continuing my usual instrumentation, but adding a handrum, a couple of children's xylophones and hand clapping. The part in the middle where it seems I'm growling my guts out, is actually a guitar through a vocal filter. The entire composition is based on a single bass drum pattern.
Genre d'Ark Technobilly ;) Guitars are for real, other instruments programmed and sampled.
Feelings of sadness, frustration and weariness combined to this emotionally driven composition. NM organ, guitar, sampled bass and drums.
An improvisation with seven guitars, if each of them uses only one string. Visual cues were used to play in time with the first track.
Seven guitars are played as if each of them had only one string.
A couple of guitars and accessories - remote controls, slide, jew's harp.
Just one guitar, played live. Added some delay afterwards.
Here I'm experimenting slapping with my guitar. Drum loop is played by Jaan Liinat.
2 guitars, sampled drums and bass.
Guitar and Nord Modular.

Just Nord Modular in both - rhythm and melody.
A little clip with guitar and Nord Modular.
Nord Modular and sampled bass.
